A Colchester hairdressing salon has been named the Gazette’s Hairdressers of the Year.

After a tough year for the industry we went on the search for our Hairdressers of the Year.

We asked you to come forward with nominations and then vote for a winner.

And GLOW in Priory Street, Colchester, was your winner.

Owner Clara Balsuriya says the team is ‘extremely grateful’ to have been voted best.

The salon opened in June 2019 and has gone from strength to strength.

Clara said: “There were so many great salons entered and we are extremely grateful and honoured to have won, working tirelessly since we were able to return to work, it is great to see all our heard work is paying off.

“We opened in June 2019 constantly training and working hard to improve our skills and services, so rewarding to see already in this short space of time we are making an impact in the industry and our community.

“It is so important to the industry to have social interactions and good relationships with our clients, we pride ourselves on upholding this.

“Welcoming our clients back through the door, having a good chat and once again returning to providing a service we think we do best, has been priceless. “ The salon also provides beauty treatments and aesthetics treatments.

She added: “I am incredibly lucky to have such a great team around me who teach me more and more every day about the hair and beauty industry.”
