A MAN has been reported for careless driving after a crash which saw the A12 closed for almost two-and-a-half hours.
Emergency services were called to the northbound carriageway near to junction 28, for Colchester United's stadium, at about 6.35am on Tuesday.
The carriageway was closed due to a two vehicle crash until just before 9am following the accident.
Drivers were advised to avoid the area whilst the emergency services were at the scene.
There were miles of queues of the northbound carriageway, stretching as far back as the Eight Ash Green junction, whilst delays spread to other roads in Colchester, such as the A133.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Thankfully no injuries were reported.
"A man has been reported for careless driving."
