Colchester United fans today returned to watch their side away from home in League Two for the first time since March 2020.
U's fans who had made the long journey to Brunton Park gave their team a great welcome as they came out to warm up prior to their league opener at Carlisle United.
The last time the U's played in front of travelling fans was ironically at Brunton Park back in March 2020, after the vast majority of last season was played behind closed doors due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Here is the moment skipper Tommy Smith and his team-mates stepped onto the pitch in front of the away fans, against Carlisle.
