FOR today's nostalgia spread we're taking a drive into central Colchester.
We've been rummaging through our archives and found these vintage pictures of Queen Street.
They were all taken during the 1970s and 1980s and show how much it has changed in the past 40 years.
Note there is no bus lane in sight and this was at a time when cars could still turn right into Queen Street!
One of the most famous shops in the road was Keddies.
It had a small chain of shops across Essex, which began with one in Southend High Street and led to the Queen Street branch in the 70s.
However, it closed for good in 1996.
