A diversion route had been put in place after a serious crash on the A120.

A spokesman for Essex Fire Service said: "Firefighters rescued a woman from her car following a road traffic collision in Marks Tey today.

"On arrival, crews reported that a car had left the roadway and collided with a tree and a woman was trapped inside the car.
