A NEW world food supermarket is preparing to open inside the old home of Poundland at a Colchester retail park.
Matha Supermarket is set to open it second store in Essex at Colchester Retail Park, in Sheepen Road.
A planning application has been submitted to replace the signage on the unit in preparation for the new store to open.
The retail park's website says the new store is set to be open Monday to Friday 9am to 8pm.
It will offer "authentic groceries and spices" at "reasonable prices".
The firm, which also has a shop in Chelmsford, has been advertising for new staff online.
The new Colchester store is believed to be opening this month.

The retail park is already home to Choice, Matalan, Starbucks, Puregym, Shoezone and Subway.
