COLCHESTER Zoo is looking for new staff to look after its animals, as well as support the successful running of the attraction.
There can't be many more exciting places in Essex to work than the Maldon Road attraction.
And there are a number of jobs on offer at the zoo for anyone looking for a career change.
Whether you're keen to work with animals or just want a different environment to work in, there could be something for you.
Here are the jobs on offer now:
Operations stock controller
Closing date - August 23
The zoo is looking to recruit an experienced Operations Stock Controller who will take autonomy of the operations function for the business.
The successful applicant will report directly to the senior management team.
Duties include implementing new stock systems, liaising with suppliers and managing stock levels.
Senior Animal Keeper
Closing date - August 23
This is a rare opportunity to join the zoo's keeper team in a senior position.
The successful applicant will work with a range of birds, reptiles, invertebrates, fish, small mammals and domestic rare breeds on an intense visitor engagement section.
As a senior keeper they will be expected to oversee the daily supervision of junior staff, student keepers and work experience, ensure safe working protocols and practices.
To apply you should have a minimum five years experience working in a zoological collection.

Play area assistant
Closing date - August 23
Staff are needed to join the zoo's play area team.
They will assist with the supervision of the soft play area, face painting, manning the sand and inflatables shop as well as the Jumble Tumble kiosk.
The position will be for weekends and holiday periods but there may be an opportunity to cover weekdays when needed.
Head of living collections
Closing Date - September 3
As head of living collections you will be responsible for developing and maintaining an extensive and diverse animal collection, ensuring it contributes to conservation, education, research, and visitor engagement.
Applicants should have experience in modern zoo animal management, collection planning and animal enclosure design.
The role is an essential part of the zoo team.
