A COLCHESTER GP practice has received a special award for its work during the coronavirus pandemic.
Colchester Medical Practice has been awarded a Hidden Heroes gong for its performance during Covid, including distributing thousands of jabs to residents across Colchester.
The initiative was established to highlight the work of teams and organisations which would otherwise go unnoticed.
The practice runs four sites in the town in East Hill, Parsons Heath, Shrub End Road and Wimpole Road.

Richard Miller, business manager, said: "The whole practice team across all four sites pulled together amazingly at the end of January and within a month from a standing start had vaccinated 10,000 people from across the town.
"All that as well as providing the same high-quality care to the patient population of 37,800 patients. Absolutely incredible achievement.’
