A NEW 20 miles per hour speed limit is set to be implemented across Rowhedge.
In a bid to boost safety, Essex County Council is consulting on a Traffic Regulation Order which will see the speed limit reduced on 21 roads in the village.
Plans have been under discussions for some time, however, further roads have been added to the list following comments made by members of the public.
Essex County Council leader Kevin Bentley agreed to add Head Street and Rectory Road to the list.
The order says: "Following concerns raised by residents through their parish council and county councillor, there was a request for a 20mph speed limit to cover as many of the roads in Rowhedge as possible.
"Previously a 20mph zone was advertised omitting Head Street and Rectory Road, however, due to the objections received the area has been reassessed to include these roads.
"Therefore, the speed limit has been amended from a zone to a limit."
