A PERSON has died after police were called to a casualty on the train tracks at a Colchester station.
British Transport Police officers were called to Hythe Station at about 6.35am on Saturday following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Witnesses said four police cars and an ambulance were spotted at the scene.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be passed to the coroner.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police, who dealt with the incident, said: "Officers were called to Hythe Station at 6.37am on Saturday following reports of a casualty on the tracks
"Paramedics also attended however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

There was some disruption to services at Hythe Station whilst emergency services were at the scene.
