COLCHESTER is alive with the sound of music thanks to the vocal talent of the town’s NHS Choir.

The choir, which is now over 60-strong, has teamed up with Funky Voices and will perform at next month’s Anti Loo Roll Brigade Festival, in Castle Park.

They have had two rehearsals together and are on track for a special performance on September 11.

Funky Voices founder and musical director Sandra Colston said: “There’s such a fresh, exciting vibe and boundless energy among the singers.

“We want to show how breathtaking collective voices can sound and feel, both for the singers and audience.”

“We’re learning two special arrangements of well-known, foot-tapping and uplifting songs that will not only thank the NHS for all they do but also keep the crowds buzzing.”

It’s not too late for other NHS staff to join the NHS Choir.

Come along to an upcoming rehearsal this Sunday or September 5, between 7pm and 8.30pm at the Abbey Field Centre, in Circular Road South.

No experience is needed and it’s free.
