A man who was seriously hurt in a fight in Colchester remains in a life-threatening condition, police have confirmed this morning.
The victim, aged 46, was left fighting for his life after he suffered a head injury and was knocked unconscious following the incident in St Botolph’s Street on Saturday.
Police were called to the scene around 4.20am and cordoned off the road, along with part of Queen Street, while they carried out their investigations.
A 20-year-old man, from West Bergholt, and a 19-year-old man, from Colchester, were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Police now say they have both been released on bail until September 22.
Officers have made a third arrest this morning.

Detectives believe there were no weapons used during the fight.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contacted police on 101, quoting incident 232 of August 28.
