ESSEX-boy Olly Murs wowed crowds in Colchester during a huge homecoming gig in Castle Park.
X Factor runner-up Olly, who revealed his love for Colchester before the show, performed for an estimated 10,000 people on Sunday evening.
He was joined at the show by up-and-coming singer-songwriter Katie Kittermaster and TOWIE icon Mark Wright, who spun tracks on the DJ decks.
Speaking before the show to the Gazette in an exclusive interview, Olly said he has many fond memories of Colchester from his youth visiting regular from his home in Witham, as well as from throughout his decorated musical career.

“I chose the town for my homecoming gig on the X Factor.
“Colchester is amazing. It is a great place to be for me.

During a performance at Newmarket Racecourse earlier this month Olly suffered a freak accident after jumping on stage.
He had to have a fragment of bone removed from his knee but was determined to still make his homecoming gig in Essex.
Festivities kicked off in the park on Sunday at 4pm, with thousands of excited residents attending the venue.
- We'll have a four page spread of pictures from the show in tomorrow's paper.
