A COURT order has been served on a group of travellers pitched up at Colchester's state-of-the-art £29 million Northern Gateway Sports Park.
Colchester Council applied for the court order to remove the caravans from the sports park, just off Junction 28 of the A12, at Colchester Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
The order means the group of travellers must leave the area by 11.30am on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for Colchester Council said: “A court order was served on the travellers earlier on Tuesday and is due to expire at 11.30am on Wednesday morning.
“Bailiff’s have been booked to attend and carry out an eviction, should the travellers fail to leave before the deadline.”
