One lane of the A12 at Colchester is blocked due to a broken down vehicle.
The Londonbound carriageway is partially blocked between junction 28, for Colchester United's stadium, and junction 27, Cymbeline Way, due to the vehicle.
Drivers have been warned to expect delays and should avoid the area if possible.
