FORMER Colchester United loanee Theo Robinson was a late mover on transfer deadline day.
The 32-year-old, who had been linked with a move to the U's earlier in the summer window, has joined Colchester's League Two rivals Bradford City on a one-year deal.
Robinson has signed for the 14th club of his career, after arriving at Valley Parade from Port Vale.
The former Jamaica international scored six goals for Vale, last season.
Robinson told the Bradford website: “I am really excited to be joining Bradford City and look forward to the challenges ahead.
“I am a hard-working player who will give my all for the team. The manager has shown great faith in me, so it is now up to me to repay him with performances on the pitch.
“I will thrive in front of a large crowd, so cannot wait to perform in front of a full Valley Parade.
“This club belongs in a higher division and I want to be a part of the journey going forward.”
Robinson found himself surplus to requirements at Port Vale, having joined them at the start of the 2020-21 campaign.
He finished the 2019-20 season as the U's top scorer with 12 goals, following his loan spell from Southend United.
The former Derby County striker initially joined Colchester on loan from the Shrimpers in August, 2019.
And when that came to an end, he agreed another loan spell at the U's until the end of the season.
In total, Robinson made 34 appearances for Colchester during his time at the JobServe Community Stadium.
He was in the away end with the U's fans at his former club's Carabao Cup first-round tie at Birmingham City, last month.
Bradford boss Derek Adams was pleased to secure the signing of Robinson.
He said: “It has been no secret we have wanted and needed another striker through the door before the window closed, and we are more than confident in Theo’s ability.
“He is a powerful, experienced striker with a keen eye for goal, who has found the net - at this level and above - throughout his career.
“We are looking forward to having him around the rest of the squad and seeing him play in Bradford City colours.”
