Senior Animal Keeper (Full Time)

Closing date - September 13 

The zoo is looking to recruit a senior animal keeper working in the Birds, Reptiles, invertebrates, fish, small mammals and domestic rare breeds area.

As a senior keeper they will be expected to oversee the daily supervision of junior staff, student keepers and work experience, ensure safe working protocols and practices, have a good understanding of risk assessments and on occasions manage the section.

Applicants should have the Diploma in the Management of Zoo Animals and Aquaria or an equivalent qualification and have a full valid driving licence.

Play Area Assistant (Part Time)

Closing date - September 21

Colchester Zoo are looking for staff to join their team in the play area. 

This will involve assisting with the supervision of the soft play area; face painting; manning the sand and inflatables shop and Jungle Tumble Kiosk.   

There may also be the opportunity to help with stage parties. 

The position will be for weekends and holiday periods but there may be an opportunity to cover weekdays when needed. 

Catering Assistant (Part Time)

Closing date - September 30

Colchester Zoo has vacancies for part time staff with flexible working days and hours within catering outlets around the zoo.

Duties will include serving customers, food preparation, clearing tables, washing up, restocking shelves and ensuring a very high standard of food hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times together with excellent levels of customer satisfaction.

These positions are available for a immediate start following a company induction.

Grounds Person / Cleaner (Part Time or Full Time)

Closing date - September 30

Colchester Zoo has vacancies for full and/or part time Grounds Person / Cleaner to join their team.

The ideal applicants would be required to work outdoors in all weathers, working as part of the Grounds Team to maintain the park to a very high standard and ensure it is clean and tidy at all times.

The role will include, but is not restricted to, emptying bins, leaf blowing, pressure washing, sweeping and cleaning inside public viewing areas and receptions and car park duties during busy seasons.

Both full time and part time positions will include working weekend days and public holidays.
