A NEW weekly car boot sale is now up and running in Colchester.
The event takes place each Sunday at Colchester Park and Ride.
It launched last weekend and will run every week until April at the Essex County Council owned site.
Here is what you need to know about the new boot sale:
When and where does the event take place?
As already mentioned the car boot sale will take place every Sunday through to April 2022.
It takes place at Colchester Park and Ride, in Cuckoo Farm Way, which is just off junction 28 of the A12.
What do I need to know to sell at the event?
There is no bookings for sellers to take part in the event.
Those looking to sell should just turn up on the day.
Set up time starts at 8am each Sunday.
Those bringing a car to sell must pay £12, those with a small van £15 and those with a large van £20.
Extra space is available each week at a cost of £5 per bay.

What about if I want to buy?
There are different prices depending on what time you wish to enter to buy.
The main opening time for buyers is 11am each week.
Entry after 11am costs 50p per person.
You can also enter the site early from 9am at a cost of £3 per person.
Entering between 10am and 11am costs £1 per person.
All under 16s can visit the sale free of charge.
Buyers money is taken as they enter the site so residents should have the correct change available if possible.
What else do I need to know?
There is strictly no buying or selling before 9am.
Sellers will have time to set up before the first customers are allowed to begin buying at 9am.
The boot sale takes place on concrete so there is no need for wellies, even in the winter months.
