A BURGER restaurant has announced it will close its town centre eatery, with the business returning to being a mobile food van.
Flag Burger opened inside a unit in Church Street, Colchester, back in March.
The business had been successfully run from a mobile unit outside The Flag pub in Wivenhoe since the start of the pandemic.
Now, the owners have announced the business will leave the town centre and become a mobile venue permanently, appearing at events and the like across the area.
The restaurant posted on Facebook: "We’re so very sorry we have been closed for the past few weeks and do hope that you’ll forgive us.
"Flag Burger was created out of lockdown.
"When the pandemic hit, like many of our friends within the hospitality industry our event diary was stripped bare.
"Sitting around our office desks, we put our minds together and Flag Burger was born.
"The year which followed was a whirlwind of ideas, triumphs and serving our unique creations to you wonderful folk of Wivenhoe, Colchester and surrounding areas.
"Events are now back on and we are busier than we have ever been, therefore the tough decision has been made for Flag Burger to leave Church Street and head back to its roots as a mobile unit."

Flag Burger will be available for private hire at events like weddings as well as likely to appear at food festivals and such across the county.
The post continued: "We will be available for private hire and events, giving our lovely customers the opportunity to have Flag Burger on a much bigger scale.
"Flag Burger will also operate at pop up venues in and around Essex with all future announcements being made on our social media pages and our app.
"We would like to thank you for your continued support and look forward to serving you soon."
