A POPULAR ice cream and desserts shop is set to close down after its current owners were unfortunately unable to “make the business viable.”
Waffle On, in Jackson Road, Clacton, relaunched and reopened back in May, much to the delight of the town’s sweet-toothed seasiders.
Bosses, however, have now announced the desserts restaurant, which offered a takeaway delivery service during the pandemic, will shut down for good.
The reasons behind the closure vary from not being able to get enough customers through the door to its location – the latter of which the owners wanted to address.
In a statement published online a spokesman for Waffle On has now said: “Unfortunately Waffle On is closing down, we just couldn’t make the business viable.
“We tried different opening times and different things on the menu. We found a buyer but they intended to drop the vegan options. We decided to dissolve the business.
“Thank you for your support, we appreciated it.”
