AN investigation has been launched after a man suffered an injury outside a town centre charity shop.
Paramedics were called to Station Road, Clacton, at about 11am on Wednesday, near the British Heart Foundation.
Once at the scene crews treated a male patient who had been injured, before transporting him to Colchester Hospital.
A spokeswoman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called to Station Road shortly after 11am today following reports that a man had been injured.
“An ambulance attended and crews treated a male patient at the scene before transporting him to Colchester Hospital for further assessment and care.”
Allison Swaine-Hughes, retail director at the British Heart Foundation (BHF), has said the Clacton branch will remain closed until an investigation into the incident is completed.
She said: “We can confirm that a man was injured outside our BHF shop in Station Road, Clacton today.
“Our thoughts are with the man at this time, and we wish him a swift and full recovery. We are also providing support to our BHF colleagues who kindly assisted in helping the man before he was taken to hospital.
“Our Clacton shop will remain closed whilst we carry out a thorough investigation.”
