A PENSIONER has appeared in court accused of historic sex offences.
William Weedon, 78, of Empress Avenue, West Mersea, appeared at Berkshire Magistrates Court accused of three counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14.
The offences are alleged to have happened between 1988 and 1994.
Weedon denied the offences and the case is due to be heard at Reading Crown Court next month.
He was released on unconditional bail.
