A BUSINESS which makes jams, marmalades and curds is enjoying the sweet taste of success after its products won awards.
Known as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world the awards recognise standout products from across the UK
Thursday Cottage, which is based in Tiptree, has picked up three new Great Taste awards.
The brand's amaretto butter, brandy butter and spiced cherry and cherry brandy jam were all awarded one star ratings.

Speaking about the amaretto butter the judges said: “This certainly delivers a festive degree of booze! Instantly recognisable as amaretto on the nose, the impact follows through on the palate, balanced by well-textured butter and apt sweetness.”
Donna Smith director of Thursday Cottage, said: “We are delighted that three of our products have received Great Taste Awards this year.
“Our new Amaretto Butter is a delicious blend of sugar, fresh butter and Amaretto liqueur carefully blended by our cooks”.
In the last four years Thursday Cottage has received recognition for 13 products made at its Essex factory.
