TEENAGE art sensation has had three pieces of artwork sold at a popular charity auction.
Alana Fensom, 18, of Harwich, painted three sculptures, which were sold for £3,500 during the octopus Ahoy! auction.
The event took place last Thursday at Le Talbooth in Dedham, where 35 sculptures from the trail helped raise more than £50,000 for charity.
Octavious’, which was designed and painted by Alana, was one of the most popular lots to go under the hammer to help the Harwich Mayflower Legacy Fund and the Tendring Community Fund.
The sculpture was bought by Galloper Wind Farm, which sponsored the original sculpture during the art trail and is now bringing it back to Harwich.
Alana’s two other contributions -‘Octo-Naut’ and popular miniature octopus ‘Bubs’ - also enjoyed the sweet taste of success, helping her raise £3,500 in total.
'Octavious' will now take pride outside the main entrance of the Galloper Wind Farm in Harwich, while 'Bubs', will live in reception.
Alana said: “It was amazing to see all three of my octopuses sell.
“It was a great opportunity to be part of Octopus Ahoy! and it has given such a boost to my work.
“I’m already looking forward to the chance to be involved in similar projects in the future.”
Sean Chenery, general manager of Galloper Wind Farm said: "It has been great to see Alana's work in Harwich as part of the Octopus Ahoy! trail and we were delighted to play our part in ensuring that 'Octavious' and ‘Bubs’ remain here in Alana's hometown.
“The whole Octopus Ahoy! project has been a great success and helping to raise money for the Harwich Mayflower Legacy Fund was a fitting finale."
