A DIGITAL marketing agency is celebrating its 21st anniversary by giving back to the community in 21 different ways.
Colchester-based Mosaic will be offering a number of services to 21 businesses and individuals over the year, including mentoring, work experience, sponsorship, consultancy and free marketing support.
As part of the initiative, Mosaic is also welcoming applications from local start-ups supporting environmental issues, which might benefit from some free training.
The sessions will provide free marketing advice and cover anything from writing a press release to creating a logo.
Mosaic, which was founded in 2000 by three former BBC journalists, is making the Mercury theatre the first business to benefit from its birthday initiative with a £1,000 sponsorship.
Its chief executive Karen Ainley said: “Supporting the Colchester community has always been a part of Mosaic’s ethos and vision and our support for culture, heritage and the arts reflects the vital role they play in the continuing cohesion of our borough.”
Mercury chief executive Steve Mannix added: “The Mercury is proud of the support we receive from Colchester’s business community and truly appreciates the years of ongoing support from Mosaic.
“Arts and culture play a vital role in our society and we could not continue to deliver critically acclaimed theatre and engaging participation activities to our town without the help of local businesses.”
The Rotary Club of Colchester Forum is another group which has benefited from the mosaic@21 initiative.
Mrs Ainley has recently given an online talk to club, discussing the history of the Internet and its impact.
Harvey Faerestrand, vice-president of Rotary Club of Colchester Forum, said: “It was a really informative and entertaining talk and we loved listening to Karen’s insight and expertise.
“Rotary’s motto is Service Above Self and it is so good to find a like-minded business willing to devote time to supporting the community.”
Mosaic’s team has held fundraising campaigns for a number of charities over the years including St Helena Hospice, the Rob George Foundation, Age Concern and the local branch of Guide Dogs for the Blind.
