BOSSES at a family-run firm say winning a prestigious award "means the world" to them.

Toppesfield-based company Woofles specialises in super safe dog leads, collars and harnesses.

Its products are sold by RSPCA Danaher, at Wethersfield, and have even featured on Paul O’Grady’s For The Love of Dogs TV show.

Now the firm has scooped a prestigious enterprise award.

A spokesman said: "Woofles provides products for all dog sizes and breeds, helping customers find the perfect match for their furry friends.

Woofles boss Kat Waterhouse has two dogs of her own – Stump and Elf – and launched the company, which has already seen impressive growth.

She said: "Having been frustrated for many years with the quality of harnesses available for our dogs and finding myself with not much to do at the beginning of maternity leave in 2018, I set to work researching not only dog accessories available on the market but also the physiology and movement of our four-legged friends.

"It didn’t take long to realise that designing super high quality, secure and comfortable accessories that wouldn’t negatively affect our dogs’ shoulders and delicate necks was an achievable possibility.

"This is when “Woofles” became more than just a nickname for our dogs – it became my dream."
