POST Office services have been restored to a village with the introduction of a temporary new service.
Residents in Abberton will able to receive their post once more after the former branch at Butterfly Lodge was closed in March.
Those wanting to collect their post can now do so at Lion Corner Community Shop, 1 Lion Corner, Mersea Road, Langenhoe.
The Postmaster for Wivenhoe will be operating the service on Fridays between 2 and 4pm. It will offer a wide range of Post Office products and services.
Wendy Hamilton, Post Office network provision lead, said: “We are delighted to have restored Post Office service to Abberton as we know how important a Post Office is to a community.
“We are really pleased to have achieved this before the busy Christmas period. We thank the Postmaster for Wivenhoe for soon providing this service at the Lion Corner Community shop.”
Alternative branches in the area also include Blackheath, Rowhedge and West Mersea.
