The Good Beer Guide 2022 has been released and eight Colchester pubs, bars, and breweries have made the cut.
Venues such as the Fat Cat, the Victoria Inn and the British Grenadier were included.
The guide connects people with the pubs worth visiting and what drinks to try.
It features beer serving establishments selected by members of CAMRA - Campaign for Real Ale.
The places that made the list are probably worth keeping note of for your next pub trip.

What Colchester pubs made it on the Good Beer Guide 2022?
Ale House
Location: 82 Butt Road, CO3 3DA
A free house with a friendly landlady and staff, and relaxing decor. A wide range of ales is sold, dispensed via handpump and also on gravity (including at least one dark beer), as well as real cider.
Bricklayers
Location: 27 Bergholt Road, CO4 5AA
Close to Colchester station, the Brick is a lively two-bar hostelry. It has a public bar with darts and pool, a saloon bar with two large TVs showing various sports, plus a snug and a conservatory
British Grenadier
Location: 67 Military Road, CO1 2AP
This welcoming hostelry, run by a knowledgeable publican, has featured in the Guide for over 10 years.
It is LocAle accredited, and serves a changing range of local, regional and nationally sourced beers and ciders via handpumps.
Fat Cat
Location: 65 Butt Road, CO3 3BZ
You are always assured of good banter and a pleasing choice of quality ales, all on gravity dispense from a central taproom. There is also a large selection of ciders and Belgian beers.
New Inn
Location: 36 Chapel Street South, CO2 7AX
There are up to eight real ales and four real ciders, and regular brewery tap takeovers take place throughout the year at the New Inn.
Odd One Out
Location: 28 Mersea Road, CO2 7ET
The multi award-winning Odd One Out features two bars. It offers at least two beers from Colchester Brewery and a range of changing guest ales over seven handpumps, as well as a varied range of ciders.
Purple Dog
Location: 42 Eld Lane, CO1 1LS
This wood-beamed corner pub in the town centre is one of the oldest bars in Colchester, dating back to 1647, and has an outdoor drinking area. Six handpumps provide mainly regional beers alongside the usual town-centre offerings.
Victoria Inn
Location: 10 North Station Road, CO1 1RB
A multi award-winning hostelry with friendly, knowledgeable staff, on the edge of the town centre. It serves two unique house ales and three guests from microbreweries, both in the area and further afield, as well as up to nine real ciders, three craft keg taps and an impressive range of cans and bottles.
