A CHARITY dedicated to fighting rough sleeping has donated a hygiene care package and hundreds of pounds to a homeless shelter.
Musicians Supporting The Homeless, based in Colchester, visited the Colchester Engagement & Next Steps headquarters on Sunday.
During the stop-off the non-profit organisation’s founder Danny Hiles handed over a cheque for £800 and a large bag of essential products.
The money was raised through a variety of live gigs hosted by the charity throughout the year, which saw musicians take to the stage in aid of a good cause.
Danny said: “It has been a very exciting year for us and we still have a few more donations to hand out before it’s all over.
“So, by the end of the year we will have donated £1,200 and we have also given a load of food to the Colchester Foodbank that has been collected at our events.
“This is all thanks to the support of all the musicians who play our shows, the venues that let us host events and of course all you amazing people that come along.
“It really does make a big difference to people’s lives - you are all the best.”
