As Christmas fast approaches, it is time to start thinking of how to get rid of the rubbish that accumulates over the festive period.
Many timetables for regular services, such as bin collections, sometimes amend their dates for pick ups around this time of year.
Bins will certainly not be collected on Christmas Day and Boxing Day
However, on the Colchester Government website it has not indicated any changes to its bin collection schedule.
Residents who have a blue week in their bin collection are reminded to only put a maximum of three 60-litre black bin bags.
Additionally, residents with a wheeled bin collection should check that their bin lids are firmly shut for the safety of collection crews.
Festive changes to bin collections in Colchester
You can check the schedule for bin collections for your individual address using the local Colchester Government website.
For example, on Gladstone Road black bags are being collected on Thursday January 6, whilst garden waste is on Thursday December 30, and food waste is being collected on both those dates.
