THE Apprentice is back for a new series, with one particular contestant having ties to Colchester.
Brittany Carter, is one of the 16 contestants competing in the BBC’s hit TV show, which launches tonight.
Brittany completed her BA Hotel Management at the Edge Hotel School at the University of Essex in 2017.
Brittany said: "I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the University of Essex. Having the experience of managing divisions in a fully functioning hotel like Wivenhoe House Hotel truly kick-starts your career in the industry.
“The experience I gained at the Edge Hotel School has assisted me through a fantastic career with Marriott Hotels, as well as giving me the skills to get onto The Apprentice.
I would strongly recommend the course to anyone wishing to pursue a career in hospitality."
Since then she has forged a successful career in the hospitality industry.
Adrian Martin, Vice Principal at Edge Hotel School, said: “We are very proud of Brittany who was an excellent student at the Edge Hotel School.
“We have all watched her career progress and were delighted to see her in a new role as Multi-Property Sales Manager at Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel, just four years after graduating.
“To see her on The Apprentice is no surprise, she has incredible energy and business acumen and all of the staff and students here will be cheering her on.”
Brittany currently lives in Bristol and is a Front of House manager in a hotel.
The 25-year-old describes herself as kind, sociable and enthusiastic and wants investment from Lord Sugar for the first alcoholic protein drink.
She said: “My motto for life is ‘always look on the bright side and be grateful for everything’– every day when I wake up, I write 10 things that I am grateful for and when I go to sleep, I reflect on 5 things I am grateful for from that day."
Tune into the show to see hwo Brittany gets on, and if she can avoid hearing those infamous two words, "You're Fired."
The show is on BBC One tonight at 9pm.
