FROM February 10, and continuing for 18 months, there will be temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restrictions in place on various roads in Tendring, along with temporary 30mph speed restrictions. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
The restrictions are required for the safety of the public and workforce while superfast installation cabling works are undertaken by County Broadband.
The roads involved are: Colchester Road, St Osyth from Colchester Road to Clacton Road; Clacton Road, St Osyth from Colchester Road to Longfields; Spring Road, St Osyth from Colchester Road to Chapel Lane; Church Square, St Osyth from its junction with The Bury for a distance of approximately 20m; Old Shield Farm Road, Ardleigh from Frating Road to Morrow Lane; Back Road, Ardleigh from Waterhouse Lane to Mill Lane; Little Bromley Road, Ardleigh from Hungerdown Lane to Waterhouse Lane; Old Shield Farm Road/Waterhouse Lane, Ardleigh from Back Road to Little Bromley Road; Hungerdown Lane, Ardleigh from Tile Barn Lane for a distance of approximately 900m; Hungerdown Lane, Ardleigh from Little Bromley Road to Tile Barn Lane; Tile Barn Lane, Ardleigh from Harwich Road to Hungerdown Lane; Frating Road, Ardleigh from Park Road for a distance of approximately 285m.
Other roadworks for the coming weeks include:
* No waiting at any time restrictions are to be revoked from March 14 as a new zebra crossing is put in Goojerat Road, Colchester.
* Temporary closure of part of Footpath 162_11, Elmstead, in Tendring for its entire length from north to south. The closure is scheduled to commence on February 1 and could last until August for repair works to be carried out while the developer is re-routing the public right of way.
* Closure of Brighton Road, Holland-on-Sea from its junction with Frinton Road to its junction with Kings Parade from February 28 for 26 days, to allow mains replacement works by Cadent.
* Closure of Carters Hill, Boxted approximately 160m south west of its junction with Cooks Hill for a distance of approximately 265m on March 1 while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.
* Fishponds Hill, Great/Little Horkesley will be closed for five days, from the junction with London Road to the junction with Water Lane from February 28 while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
* Closure of Holland Road, Little Clacton from a point approximately 155m east of its junction with The Street for a distance of approximately 105m for two days from March 2, while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
* A one-day closure of a 60m stretch of Spring Lane North, Colchester is set for March 1 while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.
* Bournemouth Road, Holland-on-Sea will be closed from its junction with Frinton Road to its junction with Kings Parade for 26 days from February 14 while new connection works are undertaken by Cadent.
* A 95m stretch of Collingwood Road, Colchester will close for three days from February 14 while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
* Dedham Road, Boxted/Langham from Cage Lane to Ipswich Road will be closed for nine days from February 15 while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
* White lining and stud works by Essex County Council mean several roads will be closed for five days from February 14. These roads are: A 400m stretch of Fingringhoe Road, Rowhedge; Weir Lane, Rowhedge from Fingringhoe Road for a distance of approximately 125m; Rectory Road, Rowhedge from Fingringhoe Road for a distance of approximately 95m.
* Hall Road, Tiptree will be closed from Station Road to Ship Lane for three days from February 16 while carriageway patching and signing works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
* Heckfords Road, Great Bentley from Michael Wright Way for a distance of approximately 115m will be closed on February 15while new connection works are undertaken by Openreach.
* An overnight closure, from 11.30pm until 5.30am of Pork Lane, Great Holland from Thorpe Road for 600m will be in place on February 20 while crossing inspection works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.
