The A12 is set to close overnight from tonight as work is carried out.
National Highways will be undertaking survey work along the A12 between junctions 25 and 26 – between Marks Tey and Stanway.
The work will begin tonight (February 14) with completion expected on February 20 as the firm works through the night from 11pm to 5am.
Between these times the southbound carriageway will be closed at junction 25 all week.

Additionally, the northbound junction 26 exit slip will be closed on February 14 and its southbound entry slip closed on February 19 and 20.
The northbound junction 25 exit slip will close on February 17 and its northbound entry slip will shut on February 19 and 20.

A spokesman for National Highways said: “Our surveys will help us to understand what needs to be done when we reconstruct the road.
“This is part of our programme to rebuild and revitalise our concrete roads in England.
“As part of this, we will be replacing the old surface with a new modern road surface. These works will extend the life of the road and ensure better ride quality."
