A PENSIONER who was caught speeding in Colchester has been handed four penalty points and a fine.
John Nicker, 77, of New Farm Road, Stanway, was caught travelling at 42mph in a 30mph zone in a Mercedes on Lexden Road on May 29 last year.
The case was proved via the single justice procedure at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on January 26.
This means defendants do not attend court and the case is decided by the sitting magistrates.
Nicker was handed four penalty points and fined £440.
He must also pay a £44 victim services fund charge and £90 costs.
