A THIEF with an “appalling” list of previous convictions has been jailed after stealing £4,000 worth of handbags.
Joseph Waters, of Berryfrields, East Bay, Colchester stole the bags from Sands and Son, in Bank Passage, Colchester on January 8.
Colchester Magistrates’ Court found the 31-year-old guilty of burglary other than dwelling last Tuesday.
Waters was sentenced to prison for eight weeks, with a magistrates report stating he has an "appalling list" of prevision convictions to feed a drug habit.
Waters must also pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £128.
