FORMER Colchester United midfielder Craig Eastmond has been inducted into Sutton United's Hall of Fame.

The 31-year-old, who made 68 appearances for Colchester between 2012 and 2015, has played a big role in Sutton's rise, over recent years.

He has played more than 300 times for Sutton during his six-and-a-half years at Gander Green Lane, scoring 23 goals in that time.

The former Arsenal youngster helped Sutton win the National League South title in his first season with the club and then helped them embark on a fine FA Cup run which saw them reach the fifth round.

Eastmond then captained the team to the National League championship and promotion to the Football League, in 2021.

Eastmond was one of six individuals to be inducted into Sutton's Hall of Fame.

The presentations were made in front of the main stand before kick-off, prior to their game against Scunthorpe United.

Eastmond first arrived on loan at Colchester from Arsenal, in September 2012.

A head injury led to him returning to the Gunners but the midfielder completed a permanent move in the summer of 2013.

In total, he made 68 appearances for the U’s, scoring seven goals.

Eastmond left Colchester in February 2015 after having his contract cancelled by mutual consent.
