A NOTORIOUS flooding hotspot was closed to motorists this afternoon after a car became stuck in floodwater.
Haven Road, in the Hythe, Colchester, was closed in both directions between Colne Causeway and Whitehall Road.
Essex County Council’s travel department has stated a car has become stuck in the waters and the road has been closed due to the flooding.

The AA's traffic map showed there wasvery slow traffic at the site as motorists moved to avoid the road, with one telling the Gazette a diversion took more than ten minutes.
The AA added its sensors suggest other vehicles are trying to pass by, causing congestion.
The road has now reopened.
