A MAN has been handed a 12-week suspended prison sentence for possessing a knife in public after breaching a community order.
Jack Chandler, 24, of Main Road, Dovercourt, was previously handed a community order after being found with a knife in Grange Road on May 28 last year.
Chandler admitted not complying with the order by failing to attend an appointment on December 22 and was resentenced by Colchester Magistrates' Court for the original offence.
He was handed a 12-week jail sentence, suspended for 18 months, due to his “willful and persistent failure" to comply with the community order.
