A QUARTET of former Colchester United players have received a call-up to the latest England C squad.
Richard Brindley and Cal Roberts, who both now play their football at Notts County, have been selected for the game against Wales C, later this month.
Ex-U's loanee Ben Tozer, who plays under former U's boss Phil Parkinson at Wrexham, has also been called up for the game, which takes place at at Caernarfon Town on March 30.
And another former Colchester loan player Liam Mandeville (pictured below), now at Chesterfield, has also been picked.
Former Braintree Town striker Michael Cheek, who now plays for Bromley, is also in the 16-man squad.
Paul Fairclough's squad is made up of players of all ages from National League level down.
Fairclough said: “We’re really pleased to confirm that we’ve accepted an invitation to play this fixture against Wales C.
“The last two encounters between the two sides have provided plenty of entertainment and a platform for the players to progress their careers, so we’re looking forward to what should be an exciting game for all involved.”
