A MUSIC event celebrating “super talented females” has raised more than £131 for a dedicated charity striving to combat rough sleeping.
Musicians Supporting The Homeless, based in Colchester, hosted its International Women’s Day Festival at The Forester Arms on Saturday.
Audience members were treated to performances from the likes of Sinead Orme-Burgoyne, Jane Tomsett, Rosalind Harniess, Poppy Scarlett and many more.
As a result of the show, more than £131 was generated for Musicians Supporting The Homeless, which will now be used to provide support to people across Essex.
The charity also received beauty and hygiene products which will now be handed over to Next Chapter which works with individuals experiencing domestic abuse.
Danny Hiles, founder of the non-profit organisation, said: “Last night was brilliant and we want to say a massive thank you to all the super talented females that performed.
“Also, a big thank you to Jim for doing a stella job sound engineering.
“Every performance was amazing and thanks to the donations from the people watching we raised £131.43.
“It seems everyone enjoyed last night so much we may be doing another event like this in the summer.
“We also need to thank The Foresters Arms for letting us host our event at their lovely little pub.”
