DOG owners will be able to swim with their furry friends at a new outdoor swimming pool opening in Essex.

Canine Dip and Dive is a company which hosts swimming sessions in large outdoor pools for dogs to have fun.

It runs pool parties, dock diving, puppy paddles and senior swims in locations across the East of England region.

These sessions have proven popular as the business was crowned a winner in the Dog Friendly Awards last year.

The company is now opening a 32ft outdoor swimming pool for dogs in Gardeners Farm in Goldhanger.

Andy Brownlie, senior splash maker at Canine Dip and Dive, added: "Owners can jump in too for free. Where else can you swim with your dogs in a safe controlled environment?"

Solo swim classes are also offered for dogs who may be reactive, are nervous in water and need one-to-one help or for people who just want the pool to themselves.

The Maldon pool opens on Easter weekend, from April 15 to 18, and everyone who books a session for these dates gets a free goody bag for their dog.

Canine Dip and Dive notes its pools are not hydrotheraphy pools, they are made for dogs to have fun and exercise.
