A HEALTH centre has celebrated being removed from special measures after making improvements to its services.
Tollgate Health Centre, in London Road, Stanway, was placed in special measures last April after being told its caring and responsive services were inadequate by watchdog Care Quality Commission.
But following an inspection last month, the practice has been removed from the special measures under after showing improvements across the board.
It was still rated as requiring improvement but the inspector felt enough progress had been made – and will continue to be made – at the centre.

A spokesman for the health centre said staff were pleased to hear of the results of the inspection.
They said: “This could only have been possible with the hard work and determination of our partners and staff and the support of our patients during what has been a difficult time for us all.
“We sincerely hope that patients have noticed the many improvements in our services over the past year and that our practice can continue forward in providing good quality healthcare for you all.”
