This video shows the dramatic moment an Essex Police officer chased and caught a thug who had dragged a colleague down the road with a car.
PC Chantelle Feyzifar has recounted the terrifying incident when appearing on BBC's Crimewatch Live programme this morning.
Chanetelle stepped in after a violent driver dragged a colleague down the road with his moving vehicle after a 'routine traffic stop' in Chafford Hundred.
When the vehicle stopped, the then 26-year-old man started to punch the officer.
Chantelle had chased the vehicle but when she attempted to get the man off her colleague, she was punched in the head herself.
She was able to use her CS Spray and call for back-up.
When the thug ran off, Chantelle chased him and prevented him from escaping over an 8ft gate until colleagues arrived to assist in the arrest.

The man was later jailed for four years and three months after admitting assault causing actual bodily harm, assaulting an emergency worker, dangerous driving and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
He was also banned from driving for four years and eight months and ordered to pay £600 compensation and £200 costs.
Chantelle, from our Grays Local Policing Team, was last year awarded the force’s Wilson Trophy for ‘outstanding act of the year’ for her brave actions.
