A man has died following a medical emergency in Colchester town centre.
The incident saw Magdalen Street closed for several hours from 5pm yesterday (Friday, March 25) to allow paramedics to treat the man.
The Essex Air Ambulance was also seen landing in the nearby Britannia car park in connection with the incident.
Essex Police says it was called to the scene following concerns for the welfare of a man but a spokesman has since confirmed the man has died.

He added: “We arrived alongside colleagues in the ambulance service who attended to the man.
“Despite their best efforts, the man sadly died.
“The road was closed for a period whilst the incident was being dealt with.
“The man’s next of kin have been informed and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
