A Colchester-based business is celebrating after growing its partnership with Aldi to introduce a brand-new product to the supermarket’s shelves this Easter.
Indulgence Patisserie, in Highwoods, was founded in 1988 and has been providing sweet treats such as brownies and vegan cakes to the supermarket since 2014.
This Easter the firm has signed a new deal to supply hand-decorated vanilla cheesecakes to Aldi stores across the country.
The long-term partnership with Aldi has helped the patisserie enjoy significant growth over the years, allowing it to invest in the latest technology and double its work force in the past eight years alone.
The business now employs 60 people in the region, and supplies desserts to more than 960 Aldi stores nationwide.
Kevin Newey, group commercial manager at Indulgence Patisserie, said: “Our relationship with Aldi has been crucial to our growth as a business and thanks to its ongoing support we have been able to make significant investment in our factory and employees.
“We’re prepared for this Easter to be the busiest on record – with 20,000 of our brand-new indulgent cheesecakes available in Aldi stores across the country.”
Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said: “Indulgence Patisserie has been an invaluable supplier of Aldi over the last eight years, and we are delighted to be sharing even more of its delicious desserts with our shoppers this Easter.
“We are proud to have played a part in their impressive growth and look forward to bringing our customers more of their mouth-watering creations for many years to come.”
