A cherished church in Brightlingsea is to receive a hefty cash injection as part of a Church Trust grant.
All Saints Church, in Movers Lane, is to benefit from £15,000 courtesy of the National Churches Trust Cornerstone Grant, which will help fund urgent repairs to the tower and keep the Grade I Listed church at the heart of the community.
The £15,000 is a chunk of the £584,000 funding pay-out from the National Churches Trust to churches across the country.
All Saints will also receive an additional £5,000 from the Wolfson Foundation, which will help to remove the church from Historic England’s Heritage at Risk register.

The church dates from 1250, with a tower nearly 100ft high.
The chief executive of the Wolfson Foundation, Paul Ramsbottom, said he was pleased to see the historic churches preserved.
He said: “Churches play a central role in the spiritual life of a community, but they are also an integral, much-loved part of our cultural heritage.
“We are delighted to be working in partnership with the National Churches Trust on this important programme supporting the preservation of these remarkable and wonderful buildings.”
A church spokesman said: “By honouring our heritage and making transformations today, we can ensure a flourishing future for the community.”
