A PRIMARY school has withdrawn plans to build a shelter for its young pupils.
Montgomery Junior School, Colchester, had applied to install shades verging on four metres tall at its premises in Baronswood Way.
A planning statement explained they were sought after to provide shade when it is sunny and shelter for when it is raining, for its pupils aged four to six.
The works would have seen its old wooden bike shed removed and replaced by a new build in a different location.
Furthermore, other ideas submitted to Colchester Council included plans for two outdoor pods and a pole climber in the school playground.
However, the school withdrew all plans on Wednesday.
