I was appalled to read in the Standard a statement on Twitter by our MP, Will Quince: “I support the PM and the Chancellor as we deliver on the priorities of the British people.”
The Prime Minister broke the law which he himself had made and then lied to Parliament.
It is absolutely clear – his situation is untenable and he must resign. In a democracy those who make the laws must adhere to them.
There is no justification for Mr Quince supporting Johnson. As for delivering on the priorities of the people, this claim is risible.
This government has failed the people abysmally on countless issues.
While the majority of the people obeyed the Covid rules, making many personal sacrifices, some while grieving, parties were regularly held at 10 Downing Street.
Those who had made the laws treated the rest of the population with contempt.
