Taken - a BMW was taken during the incident
A MAN who unlawfully took a car and proceeded to damage it in an accident has been ordered to pay more than £3,000 in compensation.
Thomas Street, 29, took a BMW and then damaged it during a collision with a pedestrian crossing in Brightlingsea on March 1, 2020.
Street, of Bellfield Close, Brightlingsea, admitted aggravated vehicle taking and property damage when he appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.
He was ordered to attend 25 days’ worth of a rehabilitation activity, fined £100 and must pay £3,476 in compensation.
