A FAMOUS comedian was spotted cheering on her daughter as she strenuously waded through brown-coloured sludge as part of a famous event.
Jo Brand, a legendary joke-teller revered for her observational and alternative quips, attended the Maldon Mud Race yesterday in a show of support for her daughter Maisi Bourke.
Maisi, a musician with thousands of social media followers, tackled the event to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and the Maldon Mud Race Charities.
She also braved the clay-laced run in memory of her uncle Bill and her mum's friend and fellow comedian Sean Lock, who both died from cancer last year.
Her efforts during this year's race, which was cancelled last year due to concerns over the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, generated more than £2,000 in donations.
This year's event, which started back in 1973, attracted roughly 300 participants.
